Washer/Dryer Hook-up

When we have our new washer/dryer come .. will it be installed for us??? We will have the new washer & dryer go where the current washer & dryer are .. but apparently the electical line is taken from the old dryer and placed on the new dryer .. is that something we can skip incurring the extra cost for .. can we do this ourselves????? Or is it best left to those who have the experience????

Anyone????

When people have gotten their new washers and dryers .. what was the installation like???? How was the delivery, and getting the machines into their positions, and what was it like getting the old ones out?????

These things concern me, and have me wondering if we should just call for a repair instead of getting new.

I would ask the guys that deliver the items if they can install it for you (off the books) when they arrive. But since a washer/dryer is more complicated than say a refrigerator or an A/C... they may say no.

But hey if they do put it in for you... make sure you tip them well. At least $20 a head cause an install like that would cost at least $80-100 from the store.

Thanks for the thoughts!

Can anyone share their personal experiences with having a washer/dryer delivered and installed????

I'm nervous and wondering how much of a headache this might be.

If you have it installed 'professionally' by the store you bought from and pay the installation fee... then you shouldnt have to worry at all.

If you are going to ask the delivery guys to do this.... well you never know. If it were me... I would just cough up the $100 buks or so to have a professional come and do the instal. Especially if its a gas dryer... definitely get a pro in there.
