washing all newborns new clothes?
Does anyone know the theory on this? And at what age can you stop washing? The soap is called dreft? I am assuming that means washing all blankets and sheets as well?

I washed everything clothes, socks, sheets & blankets before they went near Patrick. I kept doing this until he was about a year 1/2.
I can't remember when I stopped washing Jordans clothes separately - you kind of just know, it sort of depends on how sensitive their skin is too. and yes, it means, clothes, blankies, towels, everything. There are other kinds of soap, If I remember, dreft was a little expensive - other brands have dye free and fragrance free for babies.
I also heard no dryer sheets? Is this right or did you use them with no problems?
Caiden is almost 7.5 months and I'm still washing his clothes separately. I'll probably continue to do so. Also, I use Baby All for his clothes and All Free Clear for our clothes. Dreft is way overpriced. I've always used All detergent, so switching to these was easy! You're not suppose to use dryer sheets with the baby's clothes, so we don't. I do use them with our's though. I did wash everything before Caiden came home, and still continue to do so with the new clothes. There was 1 time though that he had a new outfit, and I didn't get a chance to wash it, but I wanted him to wear it, so he did. He was fine!
Some clothes are treated with a flame retardant and fabric softener counteracts that. And fabric softener could also be hard on babies sensitive skin.
I wash all of jillians in clothes in dreft.. i mean EVERYTHING... bibs, blankets, socks, clothes... it is just anpther wash for me. I personally like the dreft..
