I just wanted to update you all on our situation. DH and I have officially decided not to have any procedure done at NYU to try to seal the rupture from the amnio. We spoke to the NYU doctor again and there is just too much risk involved with miscarriage and infection for such a miniscule shot. Basically the only options were to put a cervix plug which would back up the fluid but that could shift the uterus out of whack and I would miscarry. The other option would be to plug up the ruptured hole. Normally they do this with a scope and a sealant. However, my placenta covers the entire uterus and he would be doing the procedure without a scope so he would basically be dropping the sealant in without seeing where it was going. The doctor wasn't even too thrilled with us trying to seal the hole with all the risks. I had another sonogram this week and peanut is still breathing and is active as can be with hardly any fluid. I finally let my OB know there is no way I can terminate this pregnancy while the baby is still going strong inside, even with the risks ahead. We can only hope that the lungs develop properly and that I don't go into labor before a viability date. We are going to take this day by day and week by week and hope for the best! Next week's appointment is where we discuss at what week they will start giving me steroids to help the lungs develop. I am at the end of my 22nd week. My fluid is still very low, but there is something in there after 3 weeks and I will cling to the hope that whatever is in there is going to help us have a happy and healthy baby. I also will hope that little by little, we can accumulate a little more fluid.
Chris and I would really like to thank all of you who have FM'd, emailed, called or came to visit with me at home and in the hospital. There are WAY too many of you to thank personally but I am eternally grateful to each and every one of you. Hopefully we don't miscarry and this baby gets to meet each and every one of it's LIW Aunts!!
Thank you everyone for your love and support!

still hanging in so far and trying to stay in bed. I am still leaking fluid and the baby's heartbeat on Monday was 148. My doppler came in so I can have peace of mind and hear it everyday. The doctors will give me a steroid shot somewhere between 24 and 28 weeks to help the baby's lungs develop. And if I make it to 30 weeks, they will have balloons and streamers for me. This all of course will depend on me not going into labor, which can happen at any moment. I appreciate all of your prayers and will try to update you often. Every Friday I have to have a sonogram to have the fluid measured and Mondays to have my blood drawn. That is the ONLY time I leave the house!
I'm glad to hear you're okay and that the doppler's working out for you.
