I am planning a very small reception. About 75-90 people. I started calling/e-mailing some places last week and I was shokced when I received a voicemail from someone at the Watermill quoting me at an EXTREMELY low rate for a November 2011 date. So.. my question is.. is this too good to be true? Does anyone have any feedback about the Watermill? People have told me its beautiful, but at a price that low im kinda skeptical. How is the food? Are the rooms updated or run down?
thanks ladies

Re: Watermill
Hi, I'm getting married there and am a very finicky and picky person. I loved how everything looked and it is recently renovated. I have a few off-the-boat Italian friends who will only use the Watermill for functions, which I guess is my way of saying that the food is great! I'm getting the most complete menu so it's certainly not cheap, but not unreasonable either. They may be offering a basic menu or may want to put you in an off time slot. Was it a Saturday night? Was it a holiday weekend?

Re: Watermill
My best friend got married there and it was wonderful. The small room is very pretty and the outdoor cocktail area is very nice. It is also a very nice place to take photos and the food was yummy.

Re: Watermill
I went to look at it in April and they were going to start redoing the 'smaller' room which was far from small. They were also redoing the chapel when I went so I never got to see it finished. It was beautiful there- the only reason I did not book it was because I was not able to get married outside with the smaller room. They quoted me 110pp for May so 100 for November is not bad.
I know some pretty picky Italians that have been there and LOVED the food too.
(I am Italian so no offence to any others out there)

Re: Watermill
my rh is under $100 pp before tax and gratuity. the colder months tend to be cheaper so i do not really think the price is too good to be true. i went to a wedding at the watermill 2 weeks ago and it was really nice.

Re: Watermill
I got a REALLY low quote from them for an afternoon in June. I was also wondering whether it was too good to be true, because the quote is almost 50% less than other places I looked at. I booked with Watermill and so far everything seems legit. I would definitely check it out. I'm also having a small wedding (around 70 people probably) and we're in the Carnegie room...it's really pretty!

Re: Watermill
It was second on our list the only reason we did not book there was bc it was not on the water. We were quoted 115 for a saturday night in July, I think the colder months are less bc its not peak season.

Re: Watermill
I am not getting married there, but it was our second choice. The Watermill is a beautiful RH and the food is great. There are also a lot of extras included in the wedding package.
They are pretty moderately priced during peak season so your quote is probably correct.
The only downside to us was that there could be more than 1 wedding going on at a time, which made us choose the RH that we booked.

Re: Watermill
We booked our Wedding at the Watermill for March 2011 and yes we looked at many other places and The Watermill was one who had excellent pricing we thought there was a catch as well with the price being low. But i have heard so many wonderful things about the Watermill and we both fell in love with it after checking it out. Go take a look at it you have nothing to lose.
