Did anyone book the Holiday inn express. I contacted them and I thought the rate of $149 + tax was a little high.
I know they have the shuttle to get my guests there but I also called the Marriott on exit 57 and they can give me a rate of $99.00 + tax and they have a bar open till 1 am which my bridal party will love! We thought the price was better but no shuttle.
Did anyone book an outside shuttle company?

Re: Watermill Brides
we're using the hilton garden inn. instead of paying an outrageous rate for a shuttle bus--we're gonna rent a van from some place like enterprise or hertz--and a family friend will transfer the guests to and from.

Re: Watermill Brides
I'm not getting married at the watermill, but my best friend is in february, so i am curious for her. a girl i work with had her wedding booked there for november, but just cancelled it because she attended a wedding there last week and the bride had 13 envelopes with checks stolen (they know it's 13 because they had to call each guest they didn't receive an envelope from to check). there was another wedding going on there at the same time, and she had the same thing happen to her. when the girl questionned the manager, or whomever, he said this is a problem they have been having recently and it's 'been happening all over l.i.' she was really put off by this; thought that if this was an ongoing problem, the bridal party should have been notified so they could have taken extra precautions, warned the guests not to leave envelopes on the table unattended or whatnot. she cancelled her wedding and the manager gave her a full refund without a problem. i haven't heard of anything like this happening, prior to this incident, and i am wondering if anyone else has. at the watermill or anywhere else. i would have imagined it's a worker, swiping the envelopes... in which case, i don't see how it's been happening 'all over l.i.' - they probably just said that so she wouldn't cancel. any thoughts?

Re: Watermill Brides
Holiday Inn told me 139...w/ shuttle and breakfast...does seem like a good price being you get both of those.
Marriott told me 99$
Hyatt told me 121....love love the hotel but if i dont fill all the rooms we have to pay! AHHHH not sooo sure on that!
if you go someplace else and do no shuttle and wanna get it ive looked and lowest price so far was close to 800$
unless you do what Melissa plans....thats a great idea but everyone i know will be at the wedding....so unless i hire someone to do that....hmmm i guess thats an idea!

There was a long thread on it but I think it was deleted.

We used the Holday Inn Express and we got it for $129. It was great help for the OOT so they din't have to drive. It was always great for family. I did call the Holday Inn on 347 and got a bit cheaper rate but to get a shuttle woul dhave been $300 for 14 people.
