Watermill Brides

Hello ladies, I am getting married at the Watermill next summer and I have some questions that maybe you can help me with. I tried doing a search for some of these but didn't come up with anything. First, does anyone know if they have any type of objection to having candle centerpieces? I know I've heard that some halls dissallow it and I never bothered to ask when I signed the contract because I wasn't planning on candles. Second, my reception is being held in the Astor Suite and will probably have close to 200 people. How many tables do you think they'll set up? I know that they said that they have tables that fit 10-14 people. Do you think 14 is too cramped for one table? I'm just trying to get a rough idea so I can figure out how many centerpieces I'll need. Thanks for you help ladies!!!

Re: Watermill Brides

I'll be in the same room next April!
I have no idea about candle centerpieces - but I don't remember them saying anything about not allowing it. I actually remember them saying something about providing the tables with candles actually, so I doubt it would be an issue!
YOu can call to check just to be sure - I had to call them the other day to ask a simple question and they were very helpful - or you can call Samantha the house party planner and she might be able to help you - she's very very nice.
We're going to be having between 150-175 people at our's and they told us the same thing about the tables - I wanted to max it at 10 or 12 - but I guess e can do 14 if it's necessary. I'm just worried because too many tables clog up the eating area and then no one can get around. You can talk tothem about it though becaus tey're really flexible about htose things I believe. But they have had lots of practice with it - so I usualy go with what they say.
Good luck and let me know what you find out!

Thanks Palebride. I'll definately call them and find out. Just wanted to get some opinions. I actually might be going to their showcase on Tuesday so I can probably ask the banquet manager while I'm there. Thanks for the help.

I am a Watermill bride also (in 37 days!!) and I am having candles at my reception. They didn't say anything against it. I'm also expecting between 110 - 130 people, and they planned 14 tables for us. They have different table-top sizes, so if you needed to sit 14 at a table they'd use the largest size possible, so that nobody feels cramped.

You'll definitely have your questions answered at the showcase. I went to two of them and they were a lot of fun!

Let me know if you have anymore questions!

Re: Watermill Brides

I was a Watermill bride in 2001 (and yes I am still hanging around this board). I used the tall spiral candlestick holders with candles. They looked beautiful. We had one table for 14 (DH's sibs) it was not crowded at all. WM just used a larger table top. You will have a wonderfull wedding at WM, you dont have to worry about a thing. People are still talking about our CT hour.
Happy Planning

It'll be my second - they're lots of fun (and they have lots of food!)

Re: Watermill Brides

Tuesday will be my second showcase as well. I'm hoping to win something again. Last time I won a free pick-up to the airport for my honeymoon. Little does the company know that I live in Jersey so that would be an awful pickup for them.

Thanks for your help.
