Watermill Brides - which room?

Which room do you like better and why? I booked the Vanderbilt but was told I could change to the Astor if nobody else books it. I can't decide which one I like better.

I am in the Vanderbuilt room only cause I have 240 people and the Aster does not hold that many. Either room is beautiful but I prefered the downstairs room cause I like the colums.

I am having my wedding ceremony in the Vanderbilt and my reception in the Astor.

Both rooms are beautiful....I'm having my cocktail hour either outside on in Astor...my reception is in Vanderbilt....we are having a big wedding and Astor wouldn't hold everyone

We couldn't fit in the Astor, and I liked how the Vanderbilt was separate from the rest of the facility...we had our bathroom, etc.

They are both beautiful...you can definitely not go wrong with Watermill!

We booked the Astor Room, mainly because that was all that was left available for my wedding date and also we are having under 200 people so it fits our needs perfectly.

We also booked the Astor.

We booked the Astor room, since we have having less then 200 people and having our CH outside. But both rooms are beautiful

not a watermill bride here, but went to see it.

this is my opinion only so please no one take offense.......

.......i loved the room on the main floor (which is the smaller room) moreso than the room on the lower level (the larger room) primarily because it didn't have those large columns and didnt feel like a basement.

I was mainly worried about the columns. I wasn't sure if they would be in the way or would look bad in photos. Thanks for the input.

The columns do not get in the way..nor block photo opps....two good friends of ours got married there (seperate times)....both weddings were downstairs....everything was great!

I have lots of pics in my album of the vanderbilt room...columns were not an issue at all

i think the columns just end up being a personal preference. for me, i did not prefer them.

You can't go wrong! But I'm partial to the Astor, cause that's where our reception was!

one slight drawback to the Vanderbilt is that some ppl have told me that you feel a little claustrophobic in there, cause there are no windows. (Astor has windows) If you are having a big party....Vanderbilt might be better for the size of the room. Astor hold up to about 186 I think, but that is if you squeeeze like 14 ppl at each table.

For comfort I think 10 to a table is great, and 12 is tight.

I am in the Vanderbilt room - I just loved it in there - the Astor room would have been too small for me.

We had the Astor Room with 150 guests. I loved this room because every table got a great view of the dance floor. It was cozy and the perfect size for us.
