I am recently engaged and am looking at some venues. I loved east wind but its pretty far from our church where we are getting married. I went to look at watermill yesterday and liked it a lot. Did anyone have their reception there? What was your experience like? Also how many weddings a day do they have there? I got a lot of information yesterday about the ballrooms and their times but I am still confused! Thanks in advance

I got married there on Friday and had a great experience! I believe there were two other events going on while I was there, but I couldn't tell for sure. I know for sure there was a sweet 16 going on since her suite was next to my bridal suite. The only time I had a clue another event was going on was when I was walking in the lobby/hallways and would see the occasional unfamiliar face. If you are going to be downstairs, I think you would have a lot less of that. I had a really great experience from the time I booked straight through until the end of my party. My only pet peeve was that they were terrible at answering emails, but if I called I would get the answers to my questions right away. Any other questions/concerns let me know!!

I'm getting married there and I love it. they do have more than one wedding or event at a time but I was told I would not notice. they are having a showcase on the 27th! you should go, taste their food & maybe bring a friend or relative to get their opinion

I've seen pictures on this website's homepage and it looks gorgeous. I have no personal experiences at the Watermill, but the room on the homepage looks a lot like the Garden Terrace room at the Fox Hollow. You might want to check them out as well :) Of course I'm a little biased.

My FH was at a wedding there on 1/9 ( he went with his aunt as her plus one) I asked him if he knew you, but it was a different wedding lol

Haha wow small world! So apparently there was a total of 3 events going on at one time (mine, another wedding and a sweet 16) but like I said, besides seeing the occasional unfamiliar face in the halls, I didn't notice :)

Re: Watermill Experiences
My original place to get married was Watermill, it is right down the block from my home. I have never been to events there but FH was and he was a fan....We then went to Eastwind as our 2nd choice and after a food tasting at Eastwind we booked Eastwind. Their package was so worth it and we have the Veranda Room.

For those of you who are booked at the Watermill, I'm wondering who is the banquet manager you've been working with and do you like him/her?

Re: Watermill Experiences
I got married at the watermill almost 3 years ago and it was the best day of my life. I dont think I had another event going on that day, so not sure on that front, but everything was amazing. I worked with Bob I believe.

I'm getting married at watermill on 10/2 and working with Brian. Love him and everyone there! We went to a wedding there a few years ago and everything was great, especially the food which is hard to find at a catering hall! Can't wait :)

Hi everyone....
Bumping this with more Watermill questions.
Has anyone been to the room downstairs at a wedding that had a band? Originally I didn't think it would be an issue....but they will definitely need to go on the dance floor a little bit. We will be having 9 pieces. We were thinking maybe the band will bring a little stage or something of that sort but the ceiling is not incredibly high. Minor concern so I thought I would check.
Also, I visited for the second time last night (it was a bit hectic with what was I think a sweet sixteen....kids walking around the halls barefoot). Not the best image to give to those who booked the venue for their wedding! However, they mentioned that they will be replacing the rug in the downstairs room with a new rug or wood flooring.

I went to a wedding in November and there were a few issues. The parking was horrendous. It was valet only and the the line was backed up onto 25a. Then after it took so long to park, They weren't even ready for us. Everyone showed up for cocktail hour and they crammed us in an empty room with no food/drinks till the cocktail hour room was ready. It may have just been an unlucky night but had we been considering that location I for sure would've crossed it off my list after that experience.
