My future sister in law just went to a wedding @ the Watermill. They said the cocktail hour was excellent but the entree - Chateau Briand was horrible! She said it was too tough, odd taste and was almost like pot roast... anyone else hear anything about the food? I know the cocktail hour is good but am concerned because we cannot taste test their food. Also, her husband said the tilapia oreganata was good so I guess it's not all bad...

Re: Watermill food???
i would call them and tell them that you recently attended a wedding there and the food was just ok therefore you want a full tasting b4 the wedding!

ITA with above posters... I would tell them you just attended that wedding and did not like the CB at all. Ask for other options as well.... I think its strange to not offer tastings.
Yeah, why don't they offer tastings thats kind of weird? If you cant try the food I would just have a dfferent option on your menu rather than the chateau briand. I went to a wedding there to be honest with you I had no complaints about the food but I don't know what I ordered....

Re: Watermill food???
i just went to a wedding there last night, and i am VERY picky about wedding food. the food at watermill was very, very good. you have nothing to worry about everything was cooked perfectly, and they had a great selection.
ETA: i did not have the chateau briand, that was not a choice, so you can always pick something else for your beef entree choice!

i been to wedding and I have the say the CH was good but the dinner part wasnt so great
Even if they gave you a tasting they are prob going to cook esp great for you, i would go and maybe see a BM and set it up when they actually have a wedding going on

ITA myself and many friends/family members have been to watermill weddings and the food is always the best part of the wedding....
and ive been to multiple showcases there, we go to every one since we're engaged because the food is so good....none of us have ever gotten food poisoning...
don't worry about a thing....
and as someone else mentioned...if ur worried about the Chateau Briand, you could pick a different beef entree...their Prime Rib is insane, so ive heard!!!!

they actual do offer tastings...they just started it. me and FH, FFIL, FMIL went to one in february...the food was great so i wouldnt worry at all! they kind of offer it like a dinner out...other couples go who are having there wedding there also...call up your BM and ask him when the next one is!
