Watermill question

When we booked the Watermill we sat with Bruce and briefly discussed our reception. I just got the letter saying that we need to come in to go over menus, etc. I specifically asked to meet with Bruce for this and they said they can't guarantee he will be available. He really made a good impression on us and was beyond accommodating. We would really love to keep working with him rather than getting passed around. Isn't it weird that they wouldn't schedule you to meet with the same banquet manager that you booked with?

Should I be concerned?

we met with Bruce when we booked too so I can see why you would want to deal with him again. I am a little surprised they couldn't set it up but I wouldn't be concerned. With all their attention to detail I am sure anyone who you meet with will be very helpful.

Did you ask about a specific day to meet w/ him? If it was a weekend he may be busy preparing for weddings. If possible, try scheduling it during the week when he won't be as busy.

I wouldn't worry....we didn't meet with who we booked with and actually it worked out very well for us...We met with Bob who does Matre'D work on the weekends there...and since he was so great and a pleasure to work with at our final meeting we specifically requested him to be our Matre'D for the wedding day...and he was...and everything was AMAZING.

I had Bruce as a BM as well (love him!), but because we had to do our menu on a weekend because we live out of state, we met with someone else. He was fabulous and everything was perfect on the big day and I had a lot of little details and DIY stuff all over the place. He took lots of notes and like I said, it was perfect on the big day.

One of the reasons Watermill was a front runner in our decision was because of Bruce! He was so wonderful when we met with him. I think that if you really want to meet specifically with him, you should just give him a call, speak with him directly. tell him what you want and ask if there's a way to make your schedules work. I'm sure he'd work with you on that.

I wouldn't worry. The same thing happened to me.

Bruce is also our Banquet Manager, but when I made the menu selection appointment, they could not guarantee he would be available (my appt is for a weekday).

I think it will be fine. I am just going to ask them for a copy of our selections.

same here---we booked with Glenn and really loved working with him , but actually wound up with Bruce for the menu and as our maitre d'.

no matter what--all the staff is amazing and your day will be amazing!
