I don't know if I spelt that right...but has anyone been to a watermill wedding with a Viennesse hour? How was the presentation and as a guest did you feel it was a bit much?

Re: Watermill Vienesse Hour
My brother got married at Watermill (actually one year before you will 11/2/02.) The Viennese Hour WAS a bit much. The DJ had a Conga line lead into the dark room and there was a neon lit ice sculpture and sparklers and it was just not subtle at all. The spread of desserts was nice, but the presentation was just not for me.

Re: Watermill Vienesse Hour
Our reception was at Watermill in 2001. We didnt want the over the top Vienesse Presentation so we had them modify it. They were very flexible when it came to presentation.
We had the Capachino/Cordial bar and Vienesse Trays for the tables. It was a nice finish. Most of the stuff was packed up and brought home by our guests. Just tell them what you want.

Re: Watermill Vienesse Hour
THANK YOU for letting me know! I booked the Watermill, but originally hadn't planned on having a viennese hour. However, my mom recently said that she wants to add one and is going to pay for the additional charge so that we can have it. But I already booked my DJ and photographer, and I'm afraid that they are going to have time rescrictions. Should I call them and let them know that it is going to be an hour longer now? Will I have to pay them extra to cover the hour?
Also, do they set it up in a different room? How much can you customize it?
Thanks for your help and sorry for my frantic questions! I've only got 95 days to go and I need to iron out the details, I'm sure you all understand!

I thought that was just how they presented the Viennese. I guess that was just how my brother and SIL wanted it

Re: Watermill Vienesse Hour
We had our reception at the Watermill with the Vienese Hour. It was great. The presentation for us was sparklers (they call it a pyrotechnic display). I don't think it was over the top. We have gotten so many compliments on our wedding- almost 2 years later. Just the other day, a friend told me that one of the reasons that our wedding stood out above others she had been to was because of the Vienese hour. The food was great and they even packed some of it up for my mother to bring home for the after party- we're sorry that we missed that- we heard all of the desserts were wonderful, although our photographer grabbed us for some pictures right after the guests got on line. If you're concerned about decorations, ask them to see pictures- they have them of the different displays during the hour that are available- you don't have to have neon lights- although I don't think we did. Believe me, your guests will remember that you had it- and they will enjoy every minute of it. It was worth every last penny!
