Personally, I too am biased to East Wind. I did see pics of The Watermill and it looks amazing! I have heard good things. The only thing that I would have an issue with, as stated in other posts, is the fact they have more than one wedding going on at the same time.

East WInd is amazing.. I am booked there, but that's because it blew everywhere I went away.. The food is amazing, it's very personal, and elegant. They have valet, they have the inn, a spa, its in the perfect location, the management are always there to help. I didn't get the 'wedding factory' feel. I haven't seen the watermill though. So definately check both out, and you'll decide..

I am biased also. My vote goes for East Wind. I really love it there. The people are really nice and the food is great. Prices are good also.

the food at the watermill is better--the only downside is that when they have two weddings at the same time, you sometimes can see both brides in the foyer--I'm not a fan of that

I actually thought the food at the East Inn was much better than the Watermill. No wonder everyone has different opinions, perceptions and ofcourse, tastebuds that are different.....

Watermill!!! Im biased though! Went to a wedding at east wind country gardens in june, the CH the food was nothing special: fruit, cheese, some hot stuff. We only saw one passed hors devours. They did have a seafood boat which was a big hit (everyone loved it!) Dinner was ok, they never brought us bread even though we asked for it and we had to get our own drinks. The waitstaff had no idea who ordered what, when the dinner came out. The grounds there were beautiful!!

I love them both, Watermill more obviously....I have been to weddings at both, I liked Watermill better for the food...it seemed to be more, but the food was great at both places and like someone mentioned the At the Watermill wedding the waiter seemed to wait at our table for anything we wanted , there was never from drinks, food etc any waiting for anything, tons of waitstaff etc...At the East wind it was a little slower paced...But other then that they were both extremly wonderful..the East wind is beautiful!!! and only one wedding at a time, the Watermill is just as elegnat but more then one wedding sometimes....

The Watermill used to be horrible, but they were bought by the Scotto Brothers so it's the same owner as the Fox Hollow and Woodbury Manor. There's Web site like scottobros.com or something like that. Sounds like the food must be improved from last I ate there... but I admit my last high school gymnastics dinner was in 1991, that's the last time I was there. You can check out the Scotto Brothers site and it will give you an idea of all of their venues... My ultimate vote would be the East Wind from what you have mentioned... why the second thoughts if you don't mind my asking? Good luck!

Watermill has an amazing cocktail hour. They are known for it, but I have to say that I went to a wedding in the downstairs room and I felt like I was in the basement the whole time.
Besides I am biased
