Watermill wedding
Has anyone ever had their ceremony outside at the Watermill? I am supposed to be married there outside and have a couple of questions. Was it noisy b/c of traffic, etc? Also, did they do enough with the flowers or did you have to add onto what they did? Please let me know. Thanks!

Watermill wedding
I had my reception at the Watermill and the cocktail hour was outside right next to 347. People were raving about how you couldn't even tell you were right next to traffic! The gardens were gorgeous and flowers were plentiful. I can't tell you about an outside ceremony but they do a beautiful wedding- we are so thrilled we chose our reception to be there. Good luck/.

Thanks so much for your reply. It makes me feel better to know that you couldn't tell there was the highway on the other side.

Watermill wedding
I am getting married at the Watermill in November, and although I will be inside, I thought I would tell you that you absolutely do not have to use anyone! They will want you to use there house accounts, but we can do whatever we want. So far, I am not using any house accounts.

Watermill wedding.....not using their vendors (long)
My wedding was booked for June and my 'party planner' is Samantha. Although I am so excited to be having my wedding at the Watermill (never heard one bad thing about it), for a really good price (since we just booked it), and I'm having so much fun planning, I could not have been more frustrated with this woman. She is such a salesperson and makes it so obvious that they get a cut if we use their vendors. I am booking Mark Kaufman, whom I also have heard many good things about, but she said she hasn't heard of him, and we should use their photographers, b/c he is ripping us off. She also said that invitations ordered by catalogs are not good (screw-ups), and was disappointed that I did not order my invitations with her the first day I met her. When I asked her to write down the prices of the invitaions that I like the best, she said she doesn't have time for that. So, she was basically saying, if you don't order or book something from me, than I'm not helping you much. I know I'm venting, but all of these salespeople type, who come up with things like 'this is your day, who cares about a few extra dollars' are so annoying.

Nina is right!
Samantha is a sales person. We are getting married at the Watermill in April. We had 3 house bands call us, 3 house florists called us, 3 house djs called us, 3 house photographers called us. Finally my fiance called and yelled at her. He said, 'We're already spending $15k there, what more do you want?' They have since stopped calling. We are not using any 'house' vendors from there.
