Waterview Club in Bayville?

Hey everyone!

2013 bride here =) I was wondering if anyone had any information (at all) on the Waterview Club in Bayville? I searched old posts, and there doesn't seem to be any information on it, and no real reviews.

Thanks so much in advance!

Re: Waterview Club in Bayville?

Hey! I was a little worried because I didn't find a lot of reviews of the waterview club either, but when I visited it I really just fell in love. They fed me great hors d'hoeurves when I visited and the view is spectacular. They were a little higher than my meager budget wanted to go, but as far as Long Island standards go, they are extremely reasonable. ($80-$120 pp depending on the package you choose - it was so easy for us to stay at $80 tho so I wouldn't worry.)

Selling points: Food, view, ballroom (which has all wood floors and also a great view), prices and the staff. Jonathan, who showed me around and has taken care of us throughout the entire process, is very understanding and very flexible.

Cons: Location (It isn't near anything), the fact that it is hard to find reviews (my understanding is that they changed their name a few years ago - twice - they used to be Sail Harbor and then they were Carlton on the Sound. I think they changed management as well, though, because all of the reviews under the other names refer to different people than the ones I've dealt with.)

I have done some thorough research on the place, considering I decided to book it, and here are some of the things I've found:

Reviews on The Wedding Channel:

Reviews on Long Island Catering Halls:

Pictures of a wedding that took place at the Waterview Club:

Hope this helps! I definitely think it's worth the drive out to Bayville to check it out, and there is also Crescent Beach Club right down the road that you could also see if you want to make the trip more productive!

I am not having my wedding there, but when I narrowed it down, they were in my top 3. When I did a tasting the food was great and Steve or Paul, I think that's his name was very helpful and welcoming.

FSIL had her wedding there. Food was good. Main ballroom was very nice. High ceiling, hard wood floor, round tables, nice size dance floor! Staff was very accommodating.

CH room needs a major update - it's very small and located downstairs. Kinda weird location? Nice deck area though! I agree with the above - it's not really near anything so if you have a lot of OOTers it may not be the best option. I know she stayed at Garden City Hotel when we left and that was about a 25-30 minute ride.
