Yes, they are. You just have to be careful they don't get caught in any machine at the PO when you mail them, cause wax can be sticky.

If you go to Kates Paperie, ask for the Cranes Initial Sticker Monogram Seals. They come in Gold or Silver, in all 26 letters. They are a sticker (much easier and less messy than the wax seal) and look SO NICE sealing the envelope. We did that and they came out BEAUTIFULLY.

I will be putting the wax seals either on
1- the inside envelopes
or
2- as a closer on the ribbon around the actual invitation.

I have read different post that it is best to do the wax seal on a piece of wax paper... Then you only have to use the ones that look best, peel them up and hot glue them down so they stay better!

Just a little tip.

Good luck!

I love my wax seals! I use them for all my lettes, invitations, thank yous. I have a collection of differents styles and fonts. What I have found is that only about 75% of the items I mail with wax seals arrive still intact.

They sell wax for seals that go in hot glue guns. They are awesome!! If you are going to attempt to make it work with real melting wax then buy the new candle lighter that you can ignite at all different angels and light the wax from the top. This will help with keeping the smoke and ash from the flame out of your wax. If you buy the wax with the wick in it make sure you have two people, a dripper and a stamper.

Good luck ladies!

Yes, I think they are formal and pretty, but my sis used them for her invites and she said that a lot of them came off. She advised me not to do it.

I went with a monogram sticker with our first names in coordinating colors. They only cost about $30 (I think it was somewhere around there).

i used wax seals on my invites. i use the type of wax sticks that you put in a glue gun, it's a little easier than the traditional wax where it has a wick in it and you have to drip it on the envelope.

i think for the most part, just about everyone got their seals still attached to the envelopes and i got a lot of compliments on it.

let me just forewarn and say, while they are nice and pretty, they are TIME CONSUMING! you have to practice a little bit to get it right...and have a can of cooking spray or WD-40 with you. to make sure the stamper your using doesn't sitck to the wax itself on the envlope (and then you can't remove the stamper without the seal you just put on it), you have to constantly spray oil on it, to make sure it is lubricated.

it took me about 5-6 hrs to do about 70 invites!
