Wax seals again....Problem

Wax seals again....Problem

I sent one to my friend to see how it survived the post office- it didn't. It arrived smushed and half gone. I just put it on a regular envelope.

How do I avoid this? Did anyone have succes with these?

I haven't sent my out, but did you hand cancel it?

No. Does that make a difference?

You used the wax of glue? A few people on here said the faux-wax (glue seals) worked better.

If you don't have them hand canceled then they are run through a machine, & it is my understanding that that is what causes them to break. Try sending another sample, but go to the counter & ask to have it hand cancelled. I think when you actually send the invites, the post office will give you the hand canceller & have you do each one yourselve. I am sebding mine out next week & I did use the the faux wax(hot glue) seals, which I seem sturdier, but I am also hand cancelling.

Where can we get the faux-wax glue-type stuff

its simply colored glue sticks for a hot glue gun.

I wish I had known that trick for our invitations. They were supposed to be hand cancelled and weren't. The wax seals were a mess

They sell the sticks at michaels. There is an expensive brand in a box, and a cheaper brand (just as good) in a bag. The ones in a bag are not in the wedding section- they say 'faux wax stik' on the bag.
