Every single time I get waxed ( eyebrows & lip ). I stay red for a few days. My skin is supreme sensitive!! Does this happen to any of you? Cause I wanna know how many days in advance I need to have this done before my big day. My redness goes away in like 3 days, but is still visible, but then again.....I don't want any floaters growin in either. I know makeup will cover the redness, but I don't wanna take the chance!

Re: Waxing?
Did you ever try putting ice on it when you are done? Maybe that will stop the redness. As for getting it done a few days in advance and possible stragglers, you can always pluck those.

Re: Waxing?
i just got my eyebrows waxed and they are a little puffy right now.
i saw they have an ultra sensitive something kind of wax you can use. I'd see if your place uses something like that or at least offers it. I'm going to try and get mine done the night before....hopefully it's not risky.

Re: Waxing?
I second the threading it does a better job with no redness/puffyness from waxing

Re: Waxing?
I have that happen when i get my eyebrows done, so i try to avoid waxing and get threading instead.
What helps reduce the redness is putting some visine on a cotton ball and dabbing it on the area.

How about taking advil or tylenol before hand?

Re: Waxing?
That used to happen to me but the new girl I go to using some kind of sensitivity wax. I am red and a little puffy afterwards but I don't get those bumps that stay for days.
To avoid any possible breakouts I plan to get waxed a good couple of days before my wedding day, just to be on the safe side.

Re: Waxing?
The wax is hot when it goes on. When they rub the cloth they are molding the hairs onto the cooling wax. I would suggest that they cool the wax a little more before it goes on your skin. Also do they put babypowder on your eyes or lip before they put the wax on? The babypowder helps the wax not stick to the skin but it still sticks on the hair. There is also a cream that they should be putting on your skin afterwards. If they don't have the oil or cream- ask them if they can have a cold washcloth to lay over your eyes for after.
I have also had a huge sucess with using NADS. That is if you don't mind doing it yourself. It works fantastic and there is less of a reddening bc it goes on cold.

It's funny you say that, because when I was getting a fill in at the same time, she came to me, and patted ice on my eyes..

Re: Waxing?
Mel,
My MOH is the same way. She got married this past September on a Saturday. She got waxed the Tuesday before her wedding and everything was fine for the wedding.
