Waxing?? *UPDATE*

Waxing?? *UPDATE*

Alright TMI but here it goes...

I want a brazillian but am DEATHLY afraid of the pain! I have an appointment for this weekend....how painful is it? Should I not do it so close to the wedding? How long does it last? HOW uncomfortable is it? What do they do? Should I wear a bathing suit bottom?

ETA: So I did it yesterday lol It wasn't AS BAD as I thought it was going to be. The lady I went to did it in sections and didn't just to one huge pull (I think I would've passed out if she did that) While it hurt the worst by your pelvic bone b/c that is where your nerve is....it hurts for like that quick second and then it's over with. I am really sore today but I'll get over it.

I would do it again....the uncomfortable part of laying there exposed wasn't bad....it was weird at first but then once the whole waxing part begins you don't even realize you are exposed anymore lol

Re: Waxing??

Ive never done it, more than pain Im scared about stripping down for it, i know..silly . But I was just going to say there was a post on BHB like a day or two ago on this that had some pretty helpful posts too. Most ppl said, take tylenol or advil like 1-2 hrs before.

Youre one brave girl!

You can wear a bathing suit bottom, but prepare to take it off!

Advil helps, be sure to drink plenty of water the day of - hydrated skin reacts better.

Hey girl! I did my first about 5 days b4 the wedding and I think that was the perfect time. I'm not gonna say it was easy, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. Just wore sweats and cotton panties (had to find in the back of my drawer

Doesn't matter what you wear b/c you take your bottoms ALL off. There's nothing. You can wear socks if you want, but it's summer so no one wears that anyway. My girl was fast and used lots of baby powder. After you'll be red. Take some aspirin about a half hour b4 the appt and you'll be okay. It's a bit sore a day after, but the results are TOTALLY worth it. That was FH's wedding gift... LOL! Mine is just starting to grow in a little and I got mine done May 7th (my wedding was May 12th)

Also... they do the butt, which is weird, but strange that part didn't hurt at all.

where are you going? I was pretty nervous my 1st time and ok i'm not going to lie its hurts but its not as bad as you think. I go to bliss and they have a special wax that they only use for bikini wax because it minimizes the pain. And it does work ( I convinced the lady to my eyebrows with it so I can see if there was a difference and there was one. I would say go about 10 days or so before the wedding. If your interested bliss does the brazilian for 90 and the brazilian plus full leg for 150

Yup... You're not gonna have hair down there at all. I didn't know that either then when I thought it was All Done... I was wrong. Turn Over.... Like I said, that was the only part that didn't hurt at all. Just awkward. I'm like... I have no hair on my butt!!!

Id be freaking worse than gyno. At least for gyno you can shave and whatnot to feel clean and everything before you go, but dont you need a certain amt of 'growth' to get waxed?

Youll do great tho! Everyone says theyre glad they did it!

Re: Waxing??

It's so worth it! I went last week for the first time in 3 years...I told the person waxing me that I was incredibly uncomfortable and she just walked me through everything. A couple minutes later everything was fine.

I suggest going a couple of days before your wedding day so the swelling goes down.

GL!

Uhhh... actually, you don't flip over! You are like spread eagle on the table. Think like you you are changing a baby's diaper!! You will have a very close relationship with you wax girl when you're done! You'll be fine! FH will be over the moon!! [No pun intended!! ] GL!

Re: Waxing??

It hurts. It hurts BAD. I took pain meds before & it still hurt BAD. It hurt MUCH worse then I had thought & I haven't done it since the 1st time...and I went to a specialty place that was in the city that used specialty stuff etc. Hair getting pulled out HURTS. There is no way around THAT.

I wasn't swollen. It did feel funny to pee. I went with a best friend (it helped).

They tell you to take off your underwear.
They do little by little. Pieces of an area. Warm wax and then off. Similar to eyebrows...except some woman is in front of you. I had a threading at the end. At this point...she puts a string in her mouth...it was almost too much. Pieces that you think would hurt more do not necessarily.

Good luck.

i did it once - and to be honest, i don't think i will ever do it again. i had a good experience with the girl who did mine, but it hurt like h e l l, i wasn't happy with the results - too many stray hairs and lots of swelling and red bumps afterwards that lasted for days! lol sorry if that's TMI) however, i do have very sensitive skin, so you might not want to go by my experience!!

ditto!!! I did it once, went to Bliss and it hurt WAY to bad...red and bumpy and SORRRRRRRRE for days after. by the time it cleared up, hair was growing back...I wont do it again.

but, everyone reacts differently- i have sensitive skin, even to eyebrow waxing.

1. It is not that painful. just try to relax when it is being done. I know easier said than done, but it will make the process much more relaxing.

2. It is fine to do it this weekend. Probably best because it will give your skin time to repair (just in case there is any swelling, bruising)

3. It typically lasts 2.5 weeks for me. After that I suck it up for a week and get it done again.

4. when I go they have me remove my underwear and then the woman just starts waxing. All and all it only take about 7 minutes. It is over before you know it.

This might be TMI, but it really only hurts over the pubic bone. Everywhere else pretty much has no effect on me.
