Way ahead of myself but need ideas....

Way ahead of myself but need ideas....

for a light over the dining room table. Even though we haven't closed yet I am gathering decorating ideas. Our house is very classic. We will be painting the dining room a deep red color. She is taking the crystal chandeleir with her so I need to replace it (which is fine I ma not into crystal)

Anyone have any ideas?

are you looking for something formal? traditional? how big is the room? how high is the ceiling?

you may want to browse some lighting stores...or even HD to get some ideas...and know what you like and don't like...

Hmmm... all good questions. I don't have the exact room dimensions with me at work but I will post them later. The room is a good size. The ceilings are at least 10 feet high.

I am not set on traditional or formal. I don't want anything 'stuffy' or brass. While I love my mothers dining room I don't want it to look like my mothers dining room. Does that make sense?

You may want to play around/search through Bellacor.com for ideas/styles.

I think the 1st one is my favorite too. I am going to go home tonight and try to imagine it in my dining room! I can't wait for a new light fixture - I have this kiddie looking white light thingy - with a real nice dining room set.

Ohhh, I love #1, too!!! I have recessed lighting so I can't have chandeliers. I'm jealous.

this is sort of what the light is that we have over our dinnig room table except ours is all brushed nickle. it gives off great light and we have a dimmer on it for those more intimate dinners!!

jenhos-
Go to the link that Jenny5150 posted and search for 22847. I believe that's the correct number for it.

I emailed it to Dh with some others and he really likes #1 too. I think I am ordering it!
