Way over on our guest list!!!

I was finishing up on our list of addresses this morning and now we have over 250 people. We wanted to stay under 200. This is getting crazy!!

And my mom still has others to add!!!

is it over your max, or are you still ok with that.

Is there anyway to cut some people out?

Guest lists are so hard! i am having an awful time with that. FH's family wants to invite all these peopel but my room can only hold 200 ppl max...and when i saw the room decorated for that it was so so so tight and i don't want that...now i am worried....

Any way for you to cut back??? Cause those numbers really add up as do the $$$

yikes!!! looks like you are gonna have to do some serious cutting...and that is the worst!

perhaps let the families know they have to trim their lists...i know it stinks--but hey gotta do it!

My guest list is at ~275 right now...that's ~75 over what I wanted to invite. But I figure that with that number ~200-220 will reply yes, so I think I'll be ok.

Also, sorry to bring this up, but don't forget that your vendors also count as part of your guestlist (most of the time each person counts as a half-guest)

Re: Way over on our guest list!!!

I invited 233 people and only 146 showed up (150 rsvp'd yes)

so don't freak out TOO much, you never know who will actually be able to come, bring guests... etc etc

Re: Way over on our guest list!!!

You should ask both sets of parents to either cut down on their list or dig into their pockets. I dealt with this already with my FMIL. It's bad enough I'm marrying a fireman (not that that is bad at all), but he has to invite his whole firehouse and other guys from other firehouses and then his mother wanted to invite 60 friends. FH told her to either cut her list or buck up. So she decided that she wanted to maintain her status in the community and is now paying for her friends. I'm fortunate to not have a maximum because my room is gigantic. My original goal was to invite 300 and hope that 50 say No. Now my list is at 400 and not everybody got STD's because of that reason. So at this point I can only laugh this all off.

we are very lucky my parents are already paying for the whole wedding. And FMIL has her list down but my parents and mine has grown quite a bit. I guess we didn't realize we knew so many people.

Oh well that's good...at least its not a concern that you won't have enough $$ to cover all these people. I wouldn't stress...especially in the summer alot of people have plans and go away, you might luck out....maybe they'll even send gifts

Re: Way over on our guest list!!!

I feel your pain, you are having a larger wedding than us to begin with, but we wanted to stay under 150 on the list, and 135 showing up was our max that we wanted or planned for...
we're up to 184 and it never seems to stop growing

Im with you! We wanted 150 on the dot, lol, and now we are up to 230ish. A lot of people I was sure wouldnt travel this far already told my mom they were planning on coming! I guess I wont know until I get all the invites out and rsvp's back!
