FH informed me just now that he got a call from the hotel @ EW leaving him a 'curtsy call' to say that half of our blocked off rooms were sold...like the rooms that we have deposits on!!!
One of the things that we liked about EW was that our guests could spend the night there...now there are NO rooms left at all....seriously!?!
FH is calling to give them a piece of his mind tomorrow...we have a signed contract for 20 rooms blocked...I hope we get them back or at least get compensated nicely for their mistake

fight fight fight, my FSIL had that happen with the garden city hotel. they gave away her rooms for a Bar Mitzvah
soooo ... she scream and ranted and raved,
they ended giving her the same rates and making an arrangement with the Glen Cove Mansion AND provided a shuttle bus for the guest to the Wedding ( at the nassua museum of art) AND upgraded her room and giving it to her free
so TOTALLY make a stink - cause that is TOTALLY messed up!!

sorry had to add, make sure they give you the rooms back, or give you better rooms but at the same rate in the contracts, OR making arrangements at another hotel and provide a shuttle bus ( or threaten to go to the papers about how messed up they were and how it's your wedding..ect ect)
I would be so mad, all i would do is cry, so make sure you get someone who knows how to fight on your behalf and talk like they mean business
so sorry for this un-needed headache

Are you sure it wasn't a courtesy call to let you know half wor block is filled with your guests just in case you want to add more rooms to the block? Thats what hotels do when you are close to meeting ftp block.
