do u have any school books? one of my friends sold all of her undergrad and grad books and made a dencet amount of money....i gotta do that with mine as soon as i have some time lol

I want to do that but I'm so nervous to sell them back and then want them for something. I mean, I know the chance of me needing a book from undergrad is slim to none but how do you know which ones to hold onto?

Ive sold a bunch of old textbooks and regular books on amazon...youll get more money on there than ebay. Ive also sold old pocketbooks and barely worn shoes on ebay for more than what i bought them for...people in Europe are buying them. Thinking of selling the brides maid dress i wore last month...I moved and had to get rid of all the crap in my closets.

It's a good idea to sell bridesmaid dresses. I have so many dresses in my closet just sitting!

Wow. I never would have thought to do that. I am always cleaning out my closets and draws and and donating things. I have never used Ebay. Is it hard to sell things on there?

Sell old textbooks on half.com, sell old clothes (or anything else) on ebay, etc.

I sold a bunch of old shorts (like from G+G etc from waaaaay back in the day) on ebay as one big lot and got $65 + shipping!!!! I was going to throw them away!

its pretty easy selling stuff on ebay and amazon...but my advice is to set up an account with paypal and then only accept buyers that have paypal. Its just easier. I used to donate my stuff too but hell if i can try and get money for them! If they dont sell then I donate them. The last thing I sold was some type of mug that my brother found in his new house that the old family had left behind...he gave it to me...turns out it was an antique and i sold it on ebay for over 500 bucks....almost enough to pay for my wedding dress!

it sounds stupid..but sell stuff on ebay..good way to get rid of junk and make a profit at the same time!

Not stupid at all...I've sold so much stuff on Ebay that I was planning to just throw out....great extra cash!

For those of you who sold stuff on Ebay, how did you get set up administratively? I'm moving soon and would like to get rid of a lot of stuff.

Here's an article about getting started as a freelance writer. The article also mentions several good resources for getting gigs.

You could also become a call center rep from home. I saw an article in the last year (I think) from the 'Wall Street Journal' and something on one of the network TV news magazines (poss. 'Dateline') where a few stay-at-home mothers were featured. Instead of going to a call center complex, they answered calls at home. It wasn't telemarketing--you didn't make sales. I think banks do it a fair amount. People who have questions about their accounts call the bank's 1-800 number and you answer them.

Good luck in your job search!

Just go to ebay.com and open a selling account. I think you need to link it to a credit card or bank account but I'm not 100% sure -- I signed up to sell on ebay ages ago.

They made it even easier to sell lately -- you can change color, size etc in your listings without needing to know html code. Of course I *do* know html code from the good old days of ebay selling.

One trick I learned is if you host photos on a website like photobucket, you can insert them into the listing text without paying the $.15/photo fee ebay charges you, and at a bigger size than they allow. It's really helpful if you need to include a lot of pictures but don't want to pay extra for it.

See:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300167964192&_trksid=p3907.m32&_trkparms=tab%3DSelling

(I inserted the pictures for free, since they are in the text of my listing)

FM me if you have any other questions about ebay!

sounds cheezy, but have you thought about avon - specifically their MARK line? my sister did it for a while, they have great stuff at great prices and it was really popular!

I was actually going to hold onto all my old college books.. Umm I dropped out, horrible I Know!!! So most of them are still in the package and never opened! And I was going to keep them but after seeing all this... Im def going to dig them out and sell them.. I need extra money for this wedding!!!
I was also thinking about going to yard sales and spending like 20 bux and then selling on ebay... We will see what happens though...
