My dad passed away this past Feb. and I'm trying to think of some special ways to honor him and make him a part of my special day. I pray that not many other people have had to deal with this (esp as a bride), but if anyone has, let me know if you were able to pay tribute in any way. I am going to do a picture slideshow and song at the reception, but I'd like something at the ceremony as well. Thanks!

Re: Ways to show memory to a FOB
Sorry to hear about your loss
But how about a memory candle in his honor and/or a photo pic frame that you can carry with you either on your dress or attach it to your bo-k.

I'm so sorry!! I completely agree about the candle, or maybe attaching a pic or a momento to your bo-k

Re: Ways to show memory to a FOB
If you are doing a unity candle you can have it be a memorandum candle! They put a picture with a beautiful saying! It can represent him there uniting you and your FH!
I also found a pic where they placed memory candles by the place cards tables so as people grabbed the cards they had a moment to reflect and remeber!
Im sorry for your loss! Hope your day is wonderful!

Re: Ways to show memory to a FOB
FH's father passed as well and here are some ideas we were thinking about. Im not sure which we are doing yet since I am waiting for FH to tell me which he feels comfortable with:
1. lighting a memory candle during the ceremony 2.picture with candle at RH 3. special dance w/ his mom at RH with picture slideshow of pics of his dad 4. having my bagpiper play a song in memory of him 5. poem written on back of program
Ultimately its up to you and what makes you happy and whatever you are comfortable with doing. Remember your dad the way you want to remember him and dont let anyone criticize your choices on how you want to remember him on your wedding day.
