Are any of you not using Francesco's and if not did WBM give you a credit for something else. I was told that the cake I want will cost $850 extra which if I'm doing going to pay that much I'd rather go to a bakery that hasn't had alot of complaints about the way the cake taste. I'm trying to post picture of cake but not working, here's the link. It's cake number 409 under weddings. Thanks for your help.

I thought the cake at Francesos was very good, and his customer service is EXCELLENT.

I agree. I would NOT upgrade a cake from them. The cakes are akin to eating sawdust. I don't care enough about the cake to change anything, but I'm amazed that WM uses such horrible cakes. We're just hoping to mask the dryness with fillings and frosting.

I'm surprised to read that the cakes were not good. We loved out cake and got compliments on it from some of our friends who are foodies

I think the credit is pretty minimal. We had our cake from Francescos and it actually was pretty good. I think what you taste at the showcase stinks compared to a real tasting at the bakery. We were complimented on the cake at the reception.
That said, we paid to upgrade to fondant and a little extra for quilting and design and I thought the work looked sloppy - a different issue entirely. I wouldn't waste the money on upgrades if you do decide to keep them. I used Dortoni's on the grooms cake the the work was incredible.

When I contacted Lilly at Francesco's she told me that because of the draping on the cake, it was very hard to make. I don't mind paying $850 for a cake as long as I get quality and it taste good.

Re: WB Manor/Bakery
Hi,
I had my wedding at WB Manor and their baker was Erga's in Bethpage. we got to choose a cake from a nice variety and it was included in our package. we got to go to the shop and sample different cakes and fillings and got to choose what we wanted. our cake was amazing! But the cake was included in our package. they have a book of cakes to choose from and if you wanted something that wasn't in the book you paid extra. Hope this helps.
