A recent post made me take another look at my contract for the Woodbury Country club. It says service charge 20% (Maitre D not included)
does that mean everyone is???

as far as i know, you only need to tip your Maitre D' and your bridal attendant ... i THINK everyone else is already tipped by the service charge.
Maitre d gets $3-5 per guest you have (so 100 guests, you'd give between $300-$500) and Bridal Assistant gets about $125, i believe (a little more if you're having a rehearsal)

i have to give my maitre d about 1,000? that is wayyyyyyyy to much. and a bridal attendant to? I wanted to hire a DOC, but now this is to much $$$$

Yea!! there is no way on earth im giving such a big tip. I'm going to have to be a BIG CHEAPO person there... What are they going to do to me after the wedding is over if i only tip 400$$$ Im going to run and never come back.. hahahahahahahahahaah

yeah with 250 people, that's ridiculous ... be cheap ... it's a tip - it's supposed to be optional!!

ITA! I haven't even gotten this far so i am glad someone posted about it! B/c i have been starting to wonder.....what about the DJ and Photog and stuff? B/c u r feeding them too right?

Tips i'll be giving: DJ: $100 MC: prob $100 Percussionist: $100 Photographer: $100 each (i have 2) Videographer: $100 Officiant: $100 (i'm only inviting him to the CH) Flower Delivery Person: $20 prob MatreD: $350 Bridal Attendant: $125 Hair Person: 10-20% of total cost Makeup Person: 10-20% of total cost ... i think that's it for my tips (ps: ouch!)
if you have a church wedding (i do not), you also need to tip the alter boys.

When we first signed, everyone excluding the MD was included in the 20%. I asked how much they suggest we tip the MD, and they indicated they could not suggest an amount, it is totally up to us. During our last visit, it was implied the suggested amount to tip both the MD and Bridal Attendant. A bit confusing. Of course if the BA is on top of everything, we're going to tip, but the BA is included in the 20% so I'm going to remember that.
