well DH's half sister (40yrs old) has a 5 yr old son and they live in Las Vegas she just called and she is sending him here for a while...how long is a while you ask?? I know it will be at least til August but I feel that she is giving him to us for good ...and this makes me so sad for him she is a druggie and now her ex is gone and no one to watch her son so she cant deal with it DH laughed and said to me there goes your computer room but I want to give this kid a chance at a good life and a stable home ya know

Thank you everybody We have 2 girls already so a boy will be a nice edition It really does feel good to know he will be safe and loved with us now

I think it is great that you are opening your home up to your nephew. You are both lucky to have each other. I just wanted to add that make sure you take care of yourselves legally. By that, I mean, make sure you have documentation stating that you now have guardianship of your nephew along with what ever else you may need. I say this to help protect you and your nephew.

Please make sure, I am sure you know this though, that she signs a form and has it notorized giving you concent to take your nephew for medical treatment and giving you the authority to make medical decisions for him. God forbid something was to happen you need that and trying to track her down in Vegas willnot be fun.
You are setting a wonderful example of your daughters of generosity and family
