Saturday the 25th was a beautiful day,.the weather turned out better than i could have ever hoped for. we were planning on making this just our small ceremony wit family and only a couple close friends then having a big wedding later.. but our day was sooo beautiful we decided that we wont do it again!!! Burke entertainment sent DJ Micheal MkCasty who was LOVED by everyone..i think everyone there asked for his business card..he was great.. i cant say enough about how fabulous he was..
Allyn Duca Floral in Malverne-- The MOH;s bouqets were nice. i hated mine.. looked nothing like the picuture i gave him.. they were supposed to be bright colored roses, like fushia, salmon.. those kinds of colors.. he sent me all light pastels.. he was supposed to handblow them and most of the roses arrived closed.. My moms corsage died and turned brown in an hour.. some people say that thats what happens to gardenias, but he didnt tell me that.. i felt that they were not organized everytime i went there they rewrote my order on loose leaf..
Filomenas resturant is were we had our dinner/reception... the only thing i can say about filomena is OUTSTANDING!!! she included things i did not pay for, including a great cold antipasta. the hot antipasta was unbelievable.. they didnt rush me out and she even let me come in the night before to decorate the tables and room...i had the entire place to myself.. i understand most of you have formal wedding receptions but if you are looking for a place for a shower or a rehersal dinner.. you will not be disapointed.. shes in franklin square.. if you want info email me at [email protected]
The favors i got from heresheis.com were great.. everybody loved them.. My wedding cake was from Ramona Lee Bakery in Franklin Sqaure and it was soooooooo good.. we didnt even get to take any because people wanted seconds.
My Hair was like something out of a magazine.. i didnt go for a trial so i was a little nervous but Rosa from DiRosa hair salon in franklin square (shes my regular hair cutter) out did herself.. all i hear all day was how beautiful... We didnt use a cantor or anything.. we used Judge Corbett from Floral park.. the ceremony was beautiful and we wrote our own vows and it was great.. he was only 100.00 compared to the 800.00 quotes i was getting from others.. and it didnt feel like a judge he used his catholic ceremony and it was beautiful.. during the ceremony i could see people crying We got married outside at Rath Park in franklin square.. it was great the grounds were so beautifuly kept and we were in the gazebo and everyone got to stand around the outside.. i heard people say that it was nice to finally be close so they could here the whole thing and see our faces..i liked it too.. the birds were chirping it was so beautiful.. we had a great day!! I cant believe im married.. i dont feel any different other than i finaly get to wear my wedding band and im now known as a different last name...that is very weird!!

Re: WE ARE MARRIED!!! LONG!
I also got married on Saturday, May 25th. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you all. I am in the process now of changing my name and so far, so good. Well I will have to agree with Bride02 (who I thought about immensly that day), we did have a glorious day! We had an afternoon wedding at John Anthony's and everything could not have been more perfect. Do you girls remember all the emails I wrote worrying about the weather that day (they predicted T-storms) and about Steve at Patken. Well I worried for nothing! Steve was great and so was the weather! Ok, here is a run down of my day!
I woke at 4:30 and of course the first thing I did was run to the window. It was an amazing sunrise! I was thrilled.! I also hung the rosary beads at the window the night before. So I showered and we traveled from Selden (my parents house) to Amityville (my girlfriends house) where I was to get ready. It was easier on everyone to get ready in Amityville then in Selden. Ok so my hair was done by 7:00 and my makeup was done by 7:30-7:45. I got dressed and Steve was there this whole time just patiently waiting. Everyone looked absolutely breathtaking! I had two flowergirls. My theme was pink and ivory roses (on my dress and my flowergirl dresses). Then my florist arrived wtih the flowers! They were absolutely amazing. We used John from Flower Michele and I can't say enough about them. I wish I could get married all over again just to get flowers from him again. Through the whole process he was amazing. From the beginning as we haggled on a price (he totally worked with us and actually gave us more of a deal then we even asked for, far less then Burtons!), up until the day the flowers arrived, exactly what I wanted and far more beautiful then I ever could have imagined! I would highly recommend every bride (I love you all and I would never steer you wrong) to go see John at Flower Michele! People were raving and still are about how beautiful the flowers were. Ok, so we left for the church. Steve was amazing got the pics out of the way, was very caring and funny. We loved him and are now assured we will have awesome pictures. John Anthonys was amazing, as I knew it would be. The food was out of this world! We had the best time. Then we were off to Aruba! Steve our Dj from Then til Now was ok, I can't say too much positive about him becuase I don't remember too much. But all my guests said he was good and he had everyone up and dancing. The Limos we used were All Star in Farmingdale. They were clean, way on time, very friendly would highly recommend! Oh our Video, Candlelite Video. Never even know he was there. Another amazing company. We had the most magical, perfect day! Please ask me any questions you have. Sorry this is so long! Love you girls.
P.S. I am a little sad that the wedding is over, I can't stress enough to take time out that day and look around, I did and I still remember practically nothing. Its like you are in a tunnel! I remember my first dance and the next thing I remember is the cake cutting! How sad, so I can't wait to see my video. I am happy its over in a way, because I can concentrate on my new marriage and husband instead of freaking out about wedding stuff, but you do get a few lows now and then, like what do I do with myself now?
Please write to me. I wish I could scan in pics but I don't have a scanner.

Re: WE ARE MARRIED!!! LONG!
DeniseMang ... I'm so happy for you ... you converted to a Mrs. on such a beautiful day. As I told Bride02 - I thought of you and her the whole day and how lucky you were. I'm hoping to be so lucky, 2 weeks from Sunday. Then I will join you on the Newlywed board! I hope Aruba was a blast too - we go every year with my parents - they have timeshare there - and it's gorgeous! Congratulations again and please stay on this board to offer us brides-to-be advice. I, too, think I'm going to be like you and have a low point after the wedding when I don't have anything to plan. But, like you said, I intend to just hang out with my husband , do long weekends and just have fun - until school starts again in the fall and until we start looking for a house! Then there are babies, and so much other stuff to plan - just stay happy and look forward to your new life together!
