We are NOT going to Vienna, BUT...

We are NOT going to Vienna, BUT...

...we are going to New Orleans!
Booked the flight and the hotel last night!

Even thought Austria has been my dream destination for a very long time, DH and I talked, compared and realized that going to Europe for 5 days is just not worth it. I would rather wait but go for 2 weeks and see more of that part of the world.

So, we are going to NO and I am VERY exited! Always wanted to go there! I already pulled a few threads from the past, but any advice or experience you would like to share would be greatly appreciated!

I have never been, but someone was just there for Valentine's Day.

Have fun!

I love New Orleans!!

Dubliner/Helen was just there if you want to look for her review.

My favorites:

Cafe du Monde for beignets & latte
Pat O'Briens for Hurricaines in the piano bar
Walk around Jackson Square & the River Walk
Desire in the Royal Sonesta Hotel for Po-boys
Mr. B's - Restaurant
Commander's Palace for a Jazz Brunch
NOLA - Emeril's restaurant
Brennan's has a nice brunch too.

There are voodoo/witchcraft tours, cemetary tours, the garden district.

I am so excited for you

Have so much fun! I LOVED NO. We were there a few years and I second everything Christine mentioned. We took one of those ghost tours and it was alot of fun. We also took a swamp tour which was cool- got to see lots of alligators!

Mothers is also a great local place. Also, Petunia's for breakfast.

Fh is on his way back from NO right now. He went for his bachelor party. He had lots of fun, but it was raining almost everyday.
I will ask him what places he recommends and let you know. He did tell me that Emeril's rest. was awesome.
