we are poor!!

does anyone have any idea where i can get a halfway decent living rom set (couch and loveseat) for less than $500?? i HATE what we have now... i guess i could suffer until october and use wedding gifts to get new furniture... but does anyone have any ideas?

i agree! check out some slip covers at kohl's or bed bath and beyond, and that way you can get a cover for like $100-200 and then buy new furniture later!

My cousin just bought a microfiber pull out couch and recliner from Jennifer Convertible, I know it was inexpensive. It might not stand the test of time, but it will do the trick for now.

What about used furniture?

When we bought our house we didn't have extra money for all of the new furniture we needed, we got a living room set (couch, recliner, coffee table and 2 end tables) from a friend for $100 - it was in perfect condition, but not exactly my taste (it was a floral pattern and I like solid and simple), we bought fitted slip covers and viola, pretty furniture on a budget!

that's actually not a bad idea for now, but hopefully the couch holds up for three months - the back of it is broken from when our rottie used to do lap around the apartment... long story...

Why don't you see if any stores are having a No Interest No Payments sale? That's how DH and I bought all of our furniture before the weddng.

try big lots . thye have couches no to much money and there not bad either.i got mine there and its going on 2 years there in awesome shape still.

Okay, this is soooo ghetto, but, we wanted furniture for our apartment that was cheap, because when we get a house we will buy all new nicer stuff...

We got our couch and a big chair w/ ottoman (I think it's called a chair and a half, it's a little smaller than a love seat) at Big Lots. The two together were around $700... we've had them for almost a year and they are still in pretty good condition!

My sister got an awesome microfiber couch and 'chair and a half' from Big Lots!!! Its amazingly comfortable and I think she only spent about $525. But she did go during a sale....could you wait til the labor day weekend sale? I think that's proabably the best time to buy furniture- during the holiday weekend sales.

bobs discount furniture on 110!!! you can easily get something nice there for cheap!
