we booked our vacation this weekend!

I'm so excited that we're going to be getting away for a few days.

FH and I took off the week after Thanksgiving, and we just booked a wine tasting trip up in the fingerlakes region. We booked a very romantic hotel room with a fireplace and jacuzzi. We also booked a limo (well, not a stretch of course!) for two days, so we'll be doing two days of wine tasting with a private guide.

I can't wait - We love to go wine tasting, and I cannot wait to relax with the fireplace and a nice bottle of wine at night.

Ahhhhhhhhh! This trip can't come soon enough!!

That sounds soo much fun, where exactly are you going? Which lakes will you hit? FH and I LOVE going to the fingerlakes wineries. Its so pretty up there.

When we were there in August, we did Keuka Lake wineries.

This time, we'll do a day at Cayuga and a day at Seneca lake.

I know the day we aren't touring, we're going to go purchase some wine from our favorite wineries on Keuka Lake - mainly Heron Hill and Keuka Springs.

Any recommendations for wineries on Seneca or Cayuga lake? We like drier wines... (i.e., we hate Bully Hill )

On Cayuga Lake I recomend Knapp Winery (my fav is their pasta red reserve and FH likes the plain pasta red), Lucas Vineyards (they have a really nice Cabernet Franc), Hosmer has really nice whites (we love their Cayuga White and their Reisling).

Seneca Lake- Glenora was my fav, its so pretty.

Thanks so much. I'll make sure these get on the list of wineries to visit! We looooove a good Cab Franc. We just finally found a wine store near us that carries it -- they carry most of the LI wineries cab francs. We bought one of each for our collection b/c we were so excited.
