FH and I booked at Fox Hollow today! I am so excited! After looking at a gazillion places (OK... maybe we looked at 5) we picked one we both liked! It's an April 2010 wedding! Now we can just sit back, relax and save some $$$$ until the next step.... whooo!
BTW... what is the next step?! I have no idea!

You've booked all that already? I thought we could wait until the 12 month mark to do a lot of that... am I nuts? I knew enough to get the RH out of the way (2010 is booking up fast... a lot of the dates I wanted weren't even available), but thought I could breathe until April of 2009 and then book the other vendors. Maybe I should re-think all that.
I see you booked with Chateau Briand... are you using any of the PWP services?

So far I am only using a preferred vendor for the florist, for the photo/video i didnt really like any of the preferred photo/video people, and I also booked the PWP day of coordinator
For photo/video I booked with Thomas Paul, as you search on here, you will see that he is pretty popular and i wanted to make sure that i was able to get him. I also wanted to have my major vendors booked so that i could kind of relax for the next year
Don't worry, there are other 2010 girls that have just booked the RH, it all depends on how far in advance you want to book things

Congrats!!! That is so exciting! Fox Hollow is beautiful! After the RH I wold suggest booking a photographer/ videographer-- especially if there is someone who you are really set on. They book up early. I have my dj booked- but that was only because he did my eparty and I figured I might as well book him early...I am not going to do anything else until next year though...you have plenty of time!

As for the next step, we've been looking at photographers. If there's a dj or photographer you REALLY want you could always book now- but you do still have time!

Yeay another fox hollow bride!! congrats!! When I met w/ my BM he said to book the photographer/videographer and dj first, bc the popular ones tend to book up fast.

Wow, I had no idea it was advised to book photog/dj/video 2 years or so in advance... We're looking at ideas right now. Any recommendations would be helpful. I have at 2K budget in mind (2K for photog, and 2K for video) will I be able to get a decent service for that? Should I re-think my budget?

Like all the girls said I would book the photo/video and dj/band asap. Those book up faster than you think especially if they are popular.

I am using DUET for the photo and vidoe and we are paying just a little under5k for both...we need to be charged extra for overtime...so if that wasnt a factor our cost would have been lower...

Y'all are so awesome, thanks! I see my budget is a little under what the going rate is... we may have to re-think it, but around 5K for both isn't quite so bad.
We may need overtime too, because I'll be having a church wedding and then the reception isn't until 8:30 PM. FH changed the times for the Friday night receptions for 2010... but only by 15 minutes, so whatever.
I'll be looking into the vendors you mentioned, thanks again!

We just booked our photographer/videographer this week. Next we'll do the florist, but not for a while. I think the next step should be whatever is important to YOU. Photography was important to me, so thats why we did it now. If there's a vendor you want without a doubt, then book them now, just so you know your day is secure. If you really aren't partial one vendor in particular, there's no harm in waiting it out for a while.

we went with patken and for photo and video its about 4K.
you can save some money by making your own parent albums and/or your own album on snapfish or if you're savvy on a computer.
also some places offer a regular vidoe and then there's always a deluxe version which has more little fancy scene changes or includes an uncut etc...if you can skip out on that then you can get the basic video which is cheaper
