We checked out Villa Lombardi last night
We met with Gina, a BM that totally reminded us of Lilith from Cheers/Fraiser. So funny. She was very helpful and patient - there are so many traditional things that I don't want at the wedding (I hate the idea of a carving station - seeing a big slab of meat under a heat lamp - ugh!) and she worked with us to modify the plan and pricing to be exactly what we wanted. Villa's uses the bakery that we already consulted with about making flowered cupcakes in place of a wedding cake - how convenient!
I love that place! When we pulled up, our first impression is that it wouldn't be a place we liked at all (the pink face of the building is so not our style) but after walking around and checking out the rooms and the garden, we felt that we could see ourselves having our wedding there.
Oh, I wanted to point something out, because this originally turned me off to checking out the place:
They do allow candles to be placed on the tables and the mantle.
Someone had told me that they did not allow open flames, but they do. She said she would even provide two white taper candles on each table in addition to the ones I would bring.
The menu is outrageous, and as a result, Villa's is in the lead of my possible reception locations right now. The BM also said that we would only have to have a minimum guarantee of 75 for a Sunday afternoon wedding. Perfect!
The only thing is, I don't know how well my Halloween theme will look in the rooms - so much green, gold, and pastel murals - so we're going to continue to look for halls. Everything else though - wow.
I'm so happy for you girls that are having or have had your wedding there!![]()
