We eloped and got married on St. John!!! It was just the 2 of us...no one knew and it was exactly what we wanted. It was about us...and and the way we always imagined it would be....the best day of our lives.
The whole wedding planning was driving us crazy. My parents already had a list of 550 people on their side and my inlaws list was 300 and growing. Just was not what we wanted and nobody would listen to us.
Both sets of parents are still in shock. They were in shock, then rage, then tears. We will still have the reception at the Plaza...but it's really for our parents sake...we are just thrilled and on cloud 9 and would be happy just to move on with our lives....

Congratulations Haley! Parents get so excited when their children annouce they are getting married, that they forget the party is not about them. 800 people is an outrageous number. Sounds like you did what was in your hearts and what was right for both of you.

YES!!! We have tons of pics...we got married at sunset...it was gorgeous....right on the beach.
I hired a photographer from NYC to come down to do the photography. We will scan the proofs as soon as we have a free minute.

Yay! Congratulations!! That's what we did as well (at City Hall instead of St. John's), and it was the best! We're still having a reception for the parents as well, but it takes all the pressure off!
