Bottom line is - they were only willing to go down about $20,000.00 and this house literally was falling apart. And supposedly they also rec'd a higher bid than us that was only 20,000.00 less than asking price. My opinion is than take it. On to the next one.
We bid on a house in Lake Ronkonkoma tonight that needs major work. The area is a great area in the Sachem school district and the house is on a dead end street. We bid pretty low, but literally the house needs to be redone and we think that if they accept the offer or ask for a little more and then we hire a contractor it would be worth it for the area alone. I'll keep you posted.
ETA: Still no word. I cant believe its taking this long for a yes, no or counter offer. I told my FI that I want to schedule houses to look at this weekend. I am thinking these people probably want to see what happens over the weekend as far as offers go.
