We finally closed!

It was a battle! I loved watching the lawyers in action. End result: We got the keys!

The sellers were such pigs, the house was disgusting, and they left so much $hit at the curb!!

We went back today after closing and cleaned a lot!

The sellers agreed to close on Monday, but then realized that they didn't have the payoff amount, so we had to reschedule. Our bank charged a fee of $150, and we battled over who should have to pay for that.

They also put a hole in the wall while moving furniture, and said that they didn't have enough time to fix it b/c we only did the walk through that morning. So our lawyer said 'You knew the hole was there, you didn't need us to point it out.'

And we argued over how much money to keep in escrow to cover the fact that they left so much crap at the curb, and we're not sure if the town will actually take it all.

Everything stemmed from their lawyer's contract having a different date than our contract. So they felt like we rushed them, and they were doing us a favor by moving out before they had planned, while we felt they were delaying everything. Their lawyer actually said at one point 'This all happened very quickly.' Huh?? We've been in contract since December!!

Thank goodness it's over!
