WE HAD OUR COUPLE'S SHOWER YESTERDAY!!!
Wow is all I can say....I still get misty eyed when I think of yesterday....the FH and I have been doing everything together so naturally it was my idea for a couple's shower. My BM and his BM (his brother) planned it perfectly.
Let me say hands down I have the BEST MOH in the world....no other words can express...she did it all.
She surprised us by hosting a party a PF Chang's (FH fav place)...everything was excellent, food, drinks, cake, service, favors (down to the chinese hats and oriental paper bags loaded with trinkets)....she had all the games going and the generational age of guests that attended was fantastic! She even had these black and white cookies baked with a yin and yang symbol and poems attatched!
The crying on my part came later when my Mom surprised us with a $5,000.00 check, she basically told my FH since I'm her only daughter, that that particular $$$ is to make sure I can get back home to my parents house just in case the marriage does not work she then continued the joking by presenting my FH with a racing car and a $50.00 check to remember to keep his gas tank full so he could drive me to the airport to make sure I got back to my family. (My Mom is a practical joker and resides out-of-state)....All the other guests in attendance gave gifts (which we have not opened yet and $$$) My Mom even had gifts for our hosts, I was truly touched....it was a beautiful day and endearing.
