We had out OHEKA tasting!!!!!!!!!!Heres my review and menu etc
Last night, we had the tasting at Oheka. The train was of course a few minutes late and Evan was worried b/c he had to leave early for work. We sat down at the corner table and the singer began singing his Sinatra songs. I tore into the bread, it was soooo yummy! It was white rolls, but the crust was so crisp…mmmmmm
A couple of things I noticed and hope to have on the wedding day, Each person has their own small salt and pepper shaker—nice touch.
The waiter used this unique serving tray for drinks, it wasn’t a waiter tray, I think it might be called a butler tray? I’m not sure.
Anyway, I loved how they served everyone at the exact same time on their left. In a good restaurant I always look for this so I was thrilled when they did it at Oheka.
They served in the formal dining room, and there was a Matrie D who seated you.
Everything was included except alcohol drinks which I thought was weird but whatever. We had a few glasses of Chardonnay, I’ll have to ask Dad what they charged out of curiosity.
I picked Baby Arugula and Endive Salad with Candied Walnuts, Maytag Blue Cheese, Lemon Vinaigrette and Balsamic Reduction
For dinner
I had the Apple and Sage Stuffed Chicken Breast,
Whipped Sweet Potatoes and Calavados Brandy Sauce
And for dessert they give you a trio of desserts, chocolate cake, apple tart and mini cheesecake.
YUM YUM!!!!!
It was very formal, like dining in an upscale restaurant and the service was great, the singer was good, we just had an amazing time!
Afterwards, the waiter took everyone on a tour and showed us a few rooms (even though we booked almost all of them) he brought us our coat and we left very excited for our upcoming wedding.
MY FI had this: Certified Angus Filet Mignon, Gratin Potatoes,
Baby Vegetables and Red Wine Reduction
My Mom had this:
Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass, Steamed Jasmine Rice with Sauteed Rock Shrimp and Citrus Fondue
And My Dad had this: Herb Crusted Chicken Breast, Garlic and Herb Mashed Potatoes,
Wild Mushroom Demi Glace
His parents had the same as me and FH.
Any questions feel free to ask and to see the dinner menu, its here:
