Looks like we are both ready to take the plunge and begin TTC very soon! Mike was like that means no more vacations, spontaneous happy hours, sleeping in till 10am on weekends and it kind of freaked me out. But then I realized when will anyone ever be totally ready for such a huge change? Personally for me, we just need to do it (no pun intended) when we feel right and realize that there will never be the 'perfect' time. But I'm still kinda freaking out....

That's great news! It amazed me how all of the sudden we felt we were ready, for those kind of changes. It kind of sneaks up on you.
It does freak me out every once in a while. Last week I finished my last pack of BCP, and I was very close to getting just one more pack! I try to concentrate on the excitement of it all when I start to panic.
Have fun!!

Re: We had THE talk....
How exciting…another recruit girls! We are gradually taking you all into our cult! So we can be fatties together!
It is true…there are so many things that won't be the same. I keep telling myself it will all be worth it. Listen - it's worth it when I just sit back like this to type and my little bambini gives me a nice kick to let me know she's happy! It's such a great feeling, and after even 10 years together, our relationship has never been closer and more exciting. Good luck to you and your husband.

Re: We had THE talk....
My girlfriend just had a baby 2 weeks ago and said this very thing to me today. She said she thought that she'd be bothered by the lack of sleep, the midnight feedings, and being woken up but she said she doesn't since it is just all worth it in the end. The things that you think will change, just may not bother you when you hold your very own son/daughter in your arms!

Re: We had THE talk....
THanks ladies. I know I am ready and so is DH, but at the same time when I see a screaming kid in the mall I cringe at the kids behavior. I think it just gets hard when you both are independant for so long with no cares in the world besides taking care of yourself and now being there for your significant other, to all of the sudden having a little person depend on you for everything. Then you throw a career into the mix and it gets even crazier. Deep down I am not a career girl, I work because I have to, not because I want to. So that makes it easier for me. I want to be a SAHM and DH wants us to be able to do that to, but since we have been in the work world for some time now we both contribute significantly to our joint income. See it is getting confusing already.

Re: We had THE talk....
I think we ALL struggle with giving up our freedom when we have a child. Most changes take some getting used to. But when you feel it is time, then it is the right time.
Baby Dust to you~~~~~~~~~~
And make sure you read Taking Control of Your Fertility. It has helped a lot of us understand our bodies sooooo much better.
