We have a new computer!

We have a new computer!

Everything is all set up! DH and I bought a Dell and it is up and running. Now I can upload my HM pictures!!! The only thing left to do is get some sort of DSL. Anyone have any recommendations?

Is Optimum only available in Long Island? I don't know if I can get that in Queens.

My dad lives in Forest Hills and I don't think they have Cablevision there.

we have roadrunner, its not the same as DSL- DSL is done through the phone company, roadrunner is broadband- done through the cable company.
In queens you could contact Verizon to see is DSL is available in your area, and timewarner for broadband.

Go with optimum - but try for the triple play package (phone, cable, online) b/c it will be cheaper. This is what FH and I have at our apartments.

I am in queens as well and I have Verizon DSL I love it we don't have optimun in queens

yes, timewarner will bill you just for internet. my parents do this, they have direct tv and cablevision for internet. I think directtv might have online service now as well, you could call and ask them.

Yes, I would recm'd getting Road Runner. Otherwise, what phone service do you have - ATT provides Covad DSL and Verizon has it's own.

We have optimum. Yes it is pricey but I think it is worth the money. If you dont have their phone system already you can get a package deal and it is cheaper.

Hollie, I don't think that Optimum is available in Queens. My mom has Verizon DSL and loves it. Do not get Time Warner Cable, whatever you do. Damn thing goes out almost every week. I am constantly restarting the box.
