We just got a mortgage quote at 6.2%...What rates have you gotten in the last week or so?
I read about quotes here being any where from 4.7 and up. I was praying for something lower than 6%. Anyone receive a quote lower then that recently? TIA

We locked in last week at 6.25 at Astoria Federal (30 year fixed) The week before that they rates were at 6.375. (at Astoria) Unfortunately, I don't think you're going to find anything lower than 6% now. At least not for a 30yr fixed. You may find lower for the ARMs and 15 yr fixed.

Like Marcela said, you're not going to get anything lower then 6% right now unless you're doing an ARM.

We were quoted 6% yesterday (30 year fixed rate) - we're thinking of locking in. It is hard to know what will happen.

I just checked Astoria's website and their rate is at 6% I guess we should've waited. Anyway, if I were you, I wold just lock in at 6%. I doubt it's going to go below that.

6% is a good rate right now because the interest rates are slowly creeping up.

6% i would think is a good rate for this week. marcela - dont worry honey about your rate. they fluctuate so much and no one can tell what happens from one week to the next. we locked a few months back and the rates lowered a bit more.. nothing you can do. let's just be thankful that we all locked in at such great low rates! i know the feeling though.. p isses you off!!!

I know Lauren. It's only like $30 a month. Really not a HUGE deal, but it's sooo annoying. It's like gambling I'm feeling better though. Like you said, there's nothing you can do.

marcela - i know! makes you mad! but in a month or two from now, you are going to be so grateful that you locked when you did and the 1/4 it dropped at one time won't make a difference. you're a homeowner! wooohooo!
