we just had a fire...

at work


all of a sudden we were smelling smoke so we called the fire safety guy in our building...they kept saying to stay put while they were investigating but the smoke got really bad so a bunch of us went all the way downstairs and stood outside...im not taking any chances!

eventually they told everyone on a few floors (including ours) go out...6 firetrucks were here (and several cute firefighters...gotta love FDNY )

appearantly some pipes went on fire or something...not sure...so after being outside for the morning we are back in now but it still stinks like smoke


interesting morning....

Yikes!! Good thing though it wasnt a serious fire and that the FDNY came right away....
Glad everything is ok.

well thats not good.

good idea with going with ur gut and getting out of there. Better safe then sorry

i agreee...im getting a headache from the smoke smell...i am gonna probably go to lunch soon so i can get out of here for awhile

OMG!! Glad no one got hurt.

Actually, where do you work? Coz I swear I went to get some soup and I saw a whole bunch of FDNY firefighters walking around. I work on 45th and 6th.

Then it must be the day for fires, I guess.

I wish I worked on a lower floor, so I could get out ASAP in an emergency. I used to...first was on the 11th...then crept up to the 22nd and now we are on the 36th floor. I swear I am going to invest in a parachute to keep under my desk, so when the sh*t hits the fan.....

yeah luckily i am only on the 13th floor.... if something more serious were to happen its not a terrible trip down the stairs
