Re: we just watch a demo from motion picture video..

I used motion pictures for my wedding last summer and the video is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! They were a pleasure to work with - very professional and easy to deal with. Nothing but good things to say. Out of everything from my wedding I am most pleased with my video - I believed they captured the day in a way that no other company would have been able to do (and it really one of the only things left after the 5 hours is over!). Please feel free to ask any questions.

Their tape is really good... we were also given a copy of a tape by them at Milleridge Cottage which was cool because they had three weddings that took place there so it highlighted the place as well as their video style.

I don't know this vendor so I can't comment - but please don't book them without going to their office and seeing footage of other weddings they've done.

Obviously, a demo is a compilation of their absolute best work. They have spent a ton of time making that demo perfect.

They may be awesome but don't rely on the demo alone - its only advertising.

PS: Not all, but some videographers post samples of their work on their website. Not as easy as getting a video in the mail but its another option if you are looking to narrow down the field.

I just had to comment when I saw that you were talking about Motion Pictures, Inc. I have seen two of their 'demo tapes,' their regular demo and also Flowerfield Love Stories. Both tapes were AMAZING! They are not your typical wedding video company and I think that their work is wonderful. I would love to use them but unfortunately, I do not think I am going to be able to squeeze it into my budget. If you feel unsure, they encourage you to go to their studio and take a tour, and also view unedited tape. If you go back and do a search, you will find nothing but rave reviews for Motion Pictures. Just my opinion...Good Luck!

I also received the video from The Cottage, I reminded me of a Wedding Story on TLC. I thought that was cute & different. When we were looking for locations, I did the legwork & then Fi came to see the things I liked. I was so excited that I could play the videos for Fi because i was really excited about The Cottage! Only The Cottage & Westbury Manor gave me videos. We wound up booking the Cottage. I do agree that the video may be their very best work, but I've never seen anything negative posted about them. Also, the hand out those videos freely so they must be successful with that marketing technique. Yesterday was my 4 month mark!!! Yippee! Good Luck!

I don't know how good they are technically or quality wise, but their format is creative and different- for me to sit through a bunch of people's wedding videos( who I don't even know)and get teary eyed, to me is good. Most people get bored watching their close friend's video.

as i said in an earlier post i used motion pictures for my wedding video and that are not just experts in their original and creative format. they are professionals in their field. check out their website motionpicturesinc.com you'll see that they are a production company with extremely highly trained professions in their field. their bio's are posted on their website. they have a tremendous amount of film and video experience beyond making wedding videos. you should take a visit to their studios. please feel free to ask me any questions.

i don't know what your budget is but they are pricier than other video companies and videos offered through photography places. we decided that the one thing we would go over budget was the video. it turned out to be worth it.....it's one of the best reminders of the day. made sense for me to spend more on the video than say flowers , but i know everyone is different and has to do what is right for them.

I agree with Stef- you need to meet the vendors in person. In fact, I saw a few pretty good video samples but didn't like the actual video people. Your band, photographer, and videographer are with you for many, many hours on your wedding day so make sure you feel comfortable with them. I am glad that so many people have had a good experience with this company, so this has nothing do to with them personally. I am saying this about ALL vendors.

If anyone knows the prices for this company please post them. I also recommend asking a vendor for a price range prior to meeting with them. The WORST thing is falling in love with a vendor's work only to hear that they are hundreds or thousands over your budget. It is like trying a $5,000 dress when you can only afford a $1,000 gown. You will hate the $1,000 gowns after that.
