we lost a LIW lady

I was lurking on the NW board and found out that we lost a lady the other day...here is the lady's story

I just want to add that it is so important for check ups and plus, if you have HPV (which I do), it's more important to keep it in check!!!

I wish her family the most prayers I can say...the most hugs in the world...

Re: we lost a LIW lady

This touches home for me Last year they diagnosed me with pre-cancerous cells (HPV) in my cervix. Scary stuff. Thank god everything is okay now, and after some minor in-office procedures, everything was removed. Now I go every few months for check-ups. Very frightening though. I agree, Alexandra...everyone with it must stay on top of their screenings!

I will keep her family in my prayers.

Go to Planned Parenthood. I used to go there when I had no insurance; it's not skeevy like people think. Back then, I paid based on my income and it was always a nominal charge. Please look into it! It's there for reasons like this!

I have the chills, my God..that is so sad!!!

My doctor found precancerous cells on my cervix about 9 years ago and gave me the choice to leave it alone or remove and I decided not to take the chance and have it removed, because I had a cousin who did not, and she ended up having to have a hysterecomy in her early 40's due to ignoring this problem. I had a cone biopsy, which was a pretty much painless procedure that they did under general anethesia. I then had to have paps every six months for a couple of years.

Crazy thing is, my gyno moved out of state, and I was just thinking today...that I should find a new one, so I can get a pap because I am overdue.

It is soooooo important to keep up on these things because early action can save your life!!

My prayers go out to this young lady and her family. God bless.

I read this and how sad - I have HPV to and got the vaccine and i was the step under cancer. I have had the LEEP surgery and thankfully since than all of my paps have come back normal.

Girls who don't get checked out go and get the vaccine if you havent!!!!

I don't think a pap is that much - you should really find out how much it is and really should just pay out of pocket

Omg- how sad and scary
I also have HPV and I make sure I get checked every year. This was something I never talk about and am very surprised how many of us have it on here.

This is so sad .My heart goes out to her family during this difficult time.

This was something I never spoke about as well when I first was told I had HPV. When I first diagnosed, I had no idea what HPV was (I had never even heard of it!!). I also had to do the leep. After that, I had to go every three months for a while, then every 6 months to make sure my pap came back normal. I also have the shots because there are many different strains of the virus.

Ladies, please dont neglect yourselves and get checked regularly.
