We lost one of our groomsmen

We lost one of our groomsmen

He is an old friend of FI who lives in North Carolina His wife just found out that she is pregnant with their first child, and is due 2 weeks before my wedding! So not only is he not in the wedding party, they will most likely not be able to come to the wedding :(

We are very happy for them but also sad that they will not be here with us. We also have to find a replacement now.

Things like that happen. At least it is good news for them. You have some time to find someone to replace him. Good Luck.

Ohhh, I'm sorry...that stinks, I mean it's great for them, but it stinks that they won't be at the wedding...
Here's just one thought, do you have to replace him? My sister just got married, and we had more girls than guys, and actually it worked out really well....one of the guys walked two girls down the aisle, and I (the MOH) walked down alone. And when it was time for the bridal party to dance, our fathers just stepped out onto the dance floor....just an idea....

I agree. If you have already asked everyone to share your day, the person you ask to 'replace' your lost groomsmen may feel like an after thought - that he wasn't asked in the first place. Personally, I would leave it uneven. My BP is uneven and everyone is walking down the aisle alone in the processional. They may pair up and triple up in the recessional.

I also agree.. you don't NEED to replace him. We have an even number, but it just worked out that way. We didn't say okay we both need 7... if it was uneven we wouldn't have added people just to make it even.

That is great news for them, but so sorry they won't be able to make your wedding.
