we MAY have a winner.
okay so let me start off by saying that everything that im about to say is PERSONAL OPINION, and is not meant to offend anyone reading it. :)
okay so the first place we went to was the Metropolitan... GORGEOUS inside... but very very very limited outside, and no outdoor ceremony area. The room they wouldve given us was a moldy basement room that smelled of burning incense in a pot-smokers dorm room. The dance floor was falling apart and the room was about as big as a walk-in closet.
We didn't even wait for the banquet manager... the guy who initially started the tour with us i guess understood our dislike, so when we said 'it's really just not what we're looking for', he didnt put up a fight and he let us go in peace...
we also went to Chateau La Mer.... and i'm sorry Lauren, but i do NOT like this place AT all. The view is gorgeous, yes... but the room they were gonna give us had 20 year old carpeting that was supposed to be changed last fall (i know this because my FSIL was looking there to get married and thats what they told her for that room, too)... and it's STILL not changed... its dirty and stained everywhere. Granted they just had a new dance floor put in, but the moulding around it was terrible, and the marble steps were chipped. Plus the BM was a major toolbox and reminded me more of a used car salesman than a banquet manager. I also dont like it because we are having the ceremony at the RH, and their ceremony room looks like my basement, and id have to come in through the side, not the back (HAH MY FIRST BRIDEZILLA MOMENT!)
**Note to Lauren and any other CLM brides** I'm sorry if this hurt you in anyway... i'm pretty sure because youre having more people than I am that they showed you a different room... i'm sure your wedding will be beautiful and you will have the day of your dreams!
And lastly, today....
we went to THE SWAN CLUB!!!!! it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!! The BM was absolutely awesome... i cant even think of one bad thing to say about it. The price is VERY reasonable for everything that is included... and the grounds... well.. omg they're gorgeous! I have pics but i dont know if im allowed to post them, so we'll see. They are so far number one on my list.
We're going back out later to look at more halls in Suffolk (Majestic Gardens, The Meadow Club, Giorgios, and East Wind) so there will be more posting later.
