We're back!! Our May 5, 2001 Wedding Day Info! (long)

Brides, I wish you all the happiness and fun that we had on our day! No matter how stressed you get or how tired as the day approaches, believe me, when you see your groom waiting for you at the end of that aisle, you will know how worth it it was! I cannot think of a single thing to complain about our day. Here's the brief rundown - we started with the bridal party at my house to get hair and makeup done. We used Maria from Ross & CO. in Massapequa who brought Jenni a friend of hers who used to work in that salon to do me, the MOH, 3 BMs and my Mom. We looked SPECTACULAR! My hair came out exactly like the trial that I loved and I never worried about anything falling or moving - they did a great job on the girls too. My makeup and my MOH and 2 of the BMs were done by Jackie from Imakeupyou...what can I say? I couldn't stop looking at myself!! We looked so gorgeous and the makeup truly lasted all day - I only had to touch up my lipstick. Yet it felt completely natural. Jackie did a fantastic job. By the way, I loved my dress so much - I felt like I could wear it forever. One thing, the detatchable train is extremely convienient when you get to the reception, but it does have a tendency to come unhooked when you pull it around you to walk, get in and out of the limo, etc. The photographer and my MOH had to re-hook me more than a few times... When the flowers arrived from Town Florist I really almost cried - they were so beautiful. Exactly what I pictured. They were also right on time and Sue (florist) made sure to set up the church personally and pin all the ushers, etc. so I didn't have to worry about anything. She was also there when the girls arrived to make sure everyone held their flowers correctly to maximize the photos. I can't say enough good things about her either. The weather was a little uncooperative that morning, and when Paul Marino (photographer)and John (from Premiere Video arrived) the skies were a bit overcast and we had a few sprinkles during the family/bridal party photos outside the house. I want to add that both Paul and John were absolutely fantastic to have around all day. We all got along great with them. They were fun, professional and extremely unobtrusive. I never lost patience with either one and I cannot wait to see the pics and the video. I can't say enough good things... The limo company was not only early, but extremely courteous and so good at their jobs that I barely knew they were there either (Barton Limos). They went above and beyond when the string for the runner broke and the guy crawled down the aisle on his hands and knees to make sure it laid out all the way! I can't describe how beautiful our ceremony was. The sun burst out right as we got to the altar and was a wonderful sign. I thought I would be hugely emotional and crying, but remarkably enough I was so calm all day. I was so happy to be marrying my best friend that there was no reason to worry! Exchanging our vows was just indescribable emotionally - that's what this day is all about! What a great feeling when you are walking back down that aisle! For those of you using bubbles - they look great in the photos that i've seen from friends and family! We went to Old Westbury Gardens for photos and it was beautiful there - I highly recommend it for gorgeous outdoor photo spots, but be aware that you and your BP will do a lot of walking! So keep your shoes in mind! George Washington Manor was spectacular. People are still talking about what a great place it was, how wonderful the food was, etc. etc. They did an awesome job. The food I did manage to eat was excellent, the service was great and I just can't think of enough good things to say! We had a chocolate wedding cake which was to die for and so much food it was almost ridiculous! I highly highly recommend them, especially if you are having a smallish wedding like we did. Spin Around Sound was also fantastic. Anthony was our DJ and he was great - the dance floor was constantly packed and he really followed everything we asked - light MC, no lights, and he stuck to the do not play list! The music was great! I have to say we had a ball! My husband (!) and I had the best party ever and we genuinely enjoyed ourselves. By the way, we attended our cocktail hour and I highly recommend doing so - we really got to talk to people and spend some time socializing and relaxing. More fun then hanging out in a room somewhere - for the bridal party too! Our honeymoon to Hawaii was UNBELIEVABLE - I will post more separately but it was fantastic! All in all, it was the perfect day I always dreamed of and I wish that for all of you! I have never been happier in my life and now I can't wait to start Married Life!!
