WE REGISTERED!!! w/ question???

OK, girls, we did it!! even though i'm not having a shower, we registered!!!!! ok, now the big question, how do we tell people, do i send an e-mail to everyone that we registered...but, does that seem tacky??? not sure what to do????

I would say nooooo dont send an email out saying you registered. If i was a guest I would be like

I dont remember if you have a wedding website but you can make a free one, load it up with some basic info and make a registry page and link to it. then you can send out an info saying blah blah we made a wedding website with info about blah blah, check it out! there you go

Personally, I wouldn't send an email.
Maybe put the registry card in with your invites .. but then you'd be getting boxed gifts at your wedding and I'm not sure if that's what you want. I would just let people know in casual convo. Good Luck!

i don't want the gifts, we only did it just in case people can't come or want to get us something before the wedding, like an engagement gift or in place of our shower??

I would just put it on your wedding website, and tell anyone if they ask...some people may ask. For example, I know all of our friends will order gifts and have them sent, b/c they don't have enough $$ to give a cash gift that seems meaningful....at least that's what I expect. That's what I would do too....granted I don't live on LI anymore (and we're pretty young) and none of my friends do either so maybe things are different....

....but I would just put it on the wedding website, and inform the bridal party & parents, so that if anyone asks they have the info

yes..Im sticking the cards with my shower invites most likely

SO glad you & fh decided to register - I like the idea about setting up the wedding website - Then you can email that to everyone and they will see you are registered. If not, put the little card in with your invites

maybe have a parent or friend start subtly mentioning it

i wouldnt email though

do you have facebook, xanga, friendster? if you do you can put it up there.. I posted it on facebook and my friends started buying things right off the bat! =D

if not.. i suggest you just put it on your wedding website I would not email them...

if you dont have a wedding website to link your registry to, i'd just use Word of mouth - your bridesmaids, mom, FMIL, etc.
