They'll be in Hawaii for their anniversary. Do we still have to send them an invitation?

I dont see why, if they already have those plans I wouldn't. I don't know what etiquette says though.

I'd say no. Seems like they are sort of requesting you don't by telling you now. Which is great - either you can add 2 b-listers or just deduct 2 from your overall list (my dream!).

I am on the other side of the fence... I would send an invite, then you get a gift!! JMO

LOL.
I sent an invite to one couple that told us way in advance they couldnt come just because I wanted them to see the invite since they were family, but otherwise I wouldnt. If it was me, I would be thinking 'hello! I already told you we can't come! '

I would vote for send it, what if there plans change? But then again, you don't want them to think you are fishing for a gift.

I would send it anyway. Not because of a gift, but because by sending them the STD you have implied that they are invited to the wedding and I think it would be rude not to.

I'm glad that I can take two people off. I really don't want them to think that we're sending the invite just to receive the gift (JMO). Thanks ladies.
