We start Pre Cana tonight

I am a little nervous, can someone tell me what to expect.

We had our first pre-cana on Sunday night. It was actually very pleasant. We went around the room and introduced our partners and then the deacon and his wife talked to us about their own marriage.

Is it at someones house? Ours was and It really wasn't that bad. At first it was kinda weird being in some strangers house, but there were like 7 other couples there also. In fact, FH and I kind of miss it....we did 4 Friday nights back in October. Sometimes they go around the room and ask ur opinion on the topics which are usually 'communication,' 'family values,' 'sex,' etc. Depending on who you have or where you have it, there are usually snacks, coffee, and they play little games. Sometimes we had to fill out these worksheets with questions but we NEVER had to discuss our answers out loud - we just had to exchange them with FH. On the last day, they had us all separate and gave us paper and an envelope where we had to write a 'Love Letter' to each other. They had us address the envelopes (I used my parents address just in case) and they're going to send them to us on our 1 year anniversary to 'remind us why we got married.' I can't wait to read what FH wrote in that letter!!!!!

We just finished ours and I can honestly say it was wonderful! They asked us questions but there was never any pressure to share anything that we didn't feel comfortable discussing. There were 4 engaged couples and 2 host couples - we switched between houses, 2 nights at one, the other 2 at the other. Our host couples were awesome and shared stories about their lives and marriages.

We had to write those love letters too but we were allowed to take ours home to open whenever we wanted to - on our anniversary, after a fight , etc. I think we are going to open them the morning of the wedding, I can't wait to read what he wrote!
