I odnt know why but I am...Also the pre-cana we are going to had a former LIW in it who's wedding didnt happen due to issues in Pre-cana.. Please tell me that its going to be silly and not scary...lol!!

When you get married at a Catholic Church, Pre-Cana is like the pre-wedding counseling..Like..you go and they set you up with married couples and stuff like that...for six weeks...oh what fun!

Ah ha, I figured it had something to do with that...
good thing we decided not to get married in the Catholic Church - it would be kind of difficult w/ FH in Virginia all summer...
FH and I just have to do a few sessions over winter break w/ his Reverend since FH will only be on long island a few times throughout the summer.

we just had the opening mass, and per-cana meeting (it was just introductions, not a real session yet,,, that's thursday ngiht) but, don't be scared!!!! i admit, i definately have some reservations about it, but That couple that youre speaking of.. they probably had their own issuesalready... if their marriage was meant to be, it should be able to withstand anything... including pre-cana! even if the facilitators you have are negative, or preachy... you know the strength of your relationship, and that's what matters most

We start next weekend. My FH is a little annoyed-we have pre-cana on Friday nights 7-9. Kind of a buzz-kill for a Friday night.

Don't worry, I've heard from a few of my friends that it's nothing to worry about.....my FH is starting confirmation classes on Thursday because he never finished when he was younger, now that should be interesting!

I hated it... At first it was ok, FH;s cousin and her fiance are there..then they split us up into two groups and of course seperate us , then the couple we are with ( married) are very strangly RUDE to us..I was literally getting upset...then after telling us it was going to be on Fridays, we find out that was the OTHER group..its on Sunday night till 9:30-10:00 WHO wants to spend Their Sunday nights till 10:00 with people who were not very nice?
I am actually upset and wish we didnt have to do this..

maybe it's supposed to build unity between you and FH b/c you will come Together to Hate them?!
i'm sorry it was such a horrible experience but just a few more weeks... you can make it!!!

I'm sure that everything will go well. I know some people who have a complete blast at it and then others who actually quit. I have a friend who is getting married next month and because her FI hated going to Pre-Cana they changed churches so they wouldn't have to do it! I guess it just depends how you go into it.

We have four sessions to go at the couples house...( and then a final metting during a mass and party after)And they said 'sorry we live in a Condo so it will kinda be squiched together' ( their are five couples, plus them) Um...OK? And the weirdest part for me is that they have only been married 7 years and are much older...late 50's maybe early 60's? Seems not the best choice to me? But oh well..It's just we thought it would be 'kinda' fun, and the other couple was so funny and nice and this couple seemed distant and kinda 'mad' at us if that makes sense...LOL! I was whining all night last night to FH that I don;t wanna go...LOL..Being a big baby!

I dont know, if I were you I would try to contact the church and see if they can give you the other couple since they switched days on you... if you dont feel comfortable with them you are not going to take away from the classes what you are supposed to...
